Physical Gothic: NIGHT OF THE VAMPIRE “The Enchanting Winds of the Dreamweaving Masquerade” (Profuound Lore Rec.)

Occorre segnalare il debutto sulla lunga distanza del marchio NIGHT OF THE VAMPIRE per aggiornare un trend, quello della commistione tra metal pesante e goth, sempre più in auge. Attivo dal 2021 e con alle spalle il maxi singolo -fisico- “Eternal Night”, NOTV è portato avanti da un oscuro personaggio

Texano chiamato Astral Shadow che ne cura musiche e testi. Il primo lavoro sulla lunga distanza “The Enchanting Winds of the Dreamweaving Masquerade” (Profuound Lore Rec.), così come il primo maxi singolo, è l’unione del growl black metal con -e qui sta la novità- suoni elettro-cold-wave. Quindi nessun riferimento al metal/deathrock dei New Skeletal Faces o similia ma andazzo synth -“The Cosmic Darkness Calls me Home”, “Misty Illusions“- con vocalizzi da “posseduto”. In queste ambientazioni piatte e tutt’altro che piacevoli, si distinguono i brani con le chitarre in maggiore evidenza “Sacrificed to the Night”, “Chasing Shadows in an Ocean of Time” e “The Prince of Many Faces and the Lady of the Night”.  Rimandato a data da destinarsi. Out in cd e vinile dal 06 Febbraio.

 Contrariamente a quanto scritto/sperato dopo l'uscita del singolo "Running From My Shadows", il prossimo album dei RHOMBUS è composto solo ... al 35%. Ci vorrà ancora fatica e pazienza per il rimanente 65%

GothNews VMPYR

Della serie "l'abito non fa il monaco", i VMPYR si presentano come "tipi da spiaggia" ma in realtà il terzetto di LA,  nell'album di debutto "Burnt Offerings", suona un punk-deathrock in certe tracce -vedi Carmilla- molto Rozziano.

GothNews ART GALLERY

Continuano a nascere nuovi giovani goth-bands in terra d'Albione: gli ART GALLERY di Lancaster debutteranno fisicamente il 28 Novembre con l'ep "Rasts", cinque tracce provenienti dalla loro precedente produzione demo. Lo stile proposto è un post-punk sperimentale con radici in Joy Division e -ovviamente-Bauhaus.

E' da sottolineare il fatto che tutte le brit-teen-band, ma proprio tutte -Social Youth Cult, Mouth Ulcers, Bloodworm, New Dark Age ... - sono "veri" gruppi, suonano come si suonava negli anni ottanta e se ne infischiano, contrariamente ai loro imbolsiti padri/nonni, di AI, modernità e scorciatoie varie.

 Nella scena Italiana c'è un nome nuovo: SEPTA NOXA che -come avrà già intuito chi ha visto l'ultimo post Mike York Projects- è formato dai fuoriusciti Noktva Miriam Hexe -voce- e Ira -basso-.

 Uscirà ufficialmente per Fabrika Records il prossimo 3 Aprile "Mizantrop", il quarto lavoro di studio dei SHE PAST AWAY. Sette tracce per i padri (/responsabili) della turkish wave che ha infestato la scena dell'ultima decade.
